Kyushu

Kyushu is renowned for its *shochu*, a distilled spirit often made from sweet potatoes, barley, or rice, using traditional pot stills. The subtropical climate and volcanic soil influence its distinct flavor profiles. Historically a center for sake brewing, Kyushu's focus has shifted largely towards this uniquely regional spirit.
